I'm not sure when I got caught up in needing to know what I was doing before trying something new in photography. How does that work, exactly? Of course you don't know what you're doing when you try something new, it's the trying that develops your knowledge. I have been wanting to do black and white edits for a while, but I had no idea where to start. I enrolled in an online course that turned out to be less "this is how" and more "experiment with this, be inspired by this, feel this", and it just what I needed to get stuck in and try. Funny how we need a permission slip sometimes.
The first image is a boy in the traditional costume of Ottana that I captured at the Cavalcata Sarda last month.
