After a long morning in church for my second son's First Holy Communion, we had a celebratory lunch at home, followed by a well-deserved nap. Close to 7pm I felt like going for an excursion, so we hopped into the car and headed up to Siris, about 20 minutes away, to have a look at a nuraghe that we hadn't visited before. The nuraghe wasn't particularly well preserved, but we had a lovely walk up to a picnic area with sweeping views, and a pretty wooded area. We'll be back with a picnic next time!
All of the boys love apples...nowadays this one insists on choosing the biggest.
This time of year, giant round hay bales (rotoballe - literally "bales that roll"!) dot the golden fields. I always thought they would be fun to photograph, so I took the opportunity when I saw these vespas parked at an archaeological site we went to visit. Andrea spotted me taking pictures and decided on a whim to take us to a good spot to have some hay bale fun!
